Facilities Maintenance Worker

The Facilities Management Specialist: (a) participates in facility maintenance and repair projects including carpentry plastering minor electrical minor plumbing and installing or repairing locks; (b) assists with the maintenance of program grounds and vehicles maintaining appropriate documentation of such activities; and (c) assists with the transport of residents, personnel, equipment, mail and supplies.

1.Participates in program maintenance and repair projects, including carpentry, plastering, minor electrical, minor plumbing and installing or repairing locks.
2.Assists with the maintenance of program grounds, including removal of snow and other hazards.
3.Assists with program safety-related activities including, but not limited to fire drills, tests of emergency plans and maintains appropriate documentation
4.Participates in the operation of work request and other departmental tracking systems; follows established procedures and submits documentation in a timely way.
5.Monitors the use and storage of all chemicals and cleaning agents; maintains current onsite Material Safety Data Sheets for chemicals used in the facility.
6.Assists with the transport of program consumers, personnel, equipment, mail and supplies as assigned.
7.Participates in the operation of the agency vehicle care and maintenance program.
8.Participates in supervision meetings.
9.Participates in required trainings.
10.Immediately reports serious incidents, allegations of abuse, incidents, or sensitive situations and completes incident reports in accordance with agency policy.
11.Assists in the orientation of new personnel when requested.
12.Maintains up-to-date, accurate individual paper and electronic case records on each assigned resident.
13.Complies with attendance and timekeeping rules and reports reliably and regularly to work on an on-going basis.
14.Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and supervision as well as in-service training and development activities.
15.Reviews the staff communications log and makes entries concerning essential elements of information designated by program management.
16.Obtains and maintains CPR and First Aid certifications.
17.May have on-call responsibilities.
18.Complies and promotes compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and agency policies helping to strengthen and maintain an ethical organizational culture.
19.Performs other duties reasonably related to the job as assigned.

|Qualifications:||MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
•Two years of experience in maintenance or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled trade’s worker or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course. Ability to read and write English. Must possess a valid, clean New York State Driver's License. Possession of a high school diploma or GED is preferred. Knowledge of carpentry, basic pluming and electrical work.
